UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT BOARD

TERM OF REFERENCE AND PROFILE OF MEMBERS

The Federal University Advancement was inaugurated on Thursday, 24th March, 2011 with the following terms of reference among others :

  • To develop fundraising objectives and strategies, and to embark on fund raisingactivities for the University;
  • To reach corporate donors, international agencies, foundations and individualphilanthropists that can donate generously for the cause of the University;
  • To adopt the professional practices in endowment investment management for theUniversity;
  • To oversee linkages, collaborations, partnerships, affiliations, institutionaltransformation and alumni matters;
  • To cultivate, nurture and sustain strategic relationships with local, national andinternational organisations;
  • To liaise with appropriate University organs on strategic planning, developmentand management;
  • To oversee the development and management of database on donors and alumni of theUniversity;
  • To intensify and optimize capacity building for fund raising and alumnirelationship management;
  • To raise fund and manage the fund for educational sustainability
  • To operate for initial period of 4 (four) years which can be renewable.
  • To carry out any other activities/functions as may be assigned by theVice-Chancellor

    Advancement Board Meetings:

    The Advancement Board meetings were heldon 3rd of May, 2012, 9th August, 2012 and 6thNovember, 2012. The first and secondmeetings were held in the University while the third one was held at Abuja. Theimportant issues discussed at thosemeetings and various decisions taken were communicated to the University Management appropriately.
